Some 18,000 people have expressed interest in applying to live at Marea Alta, a BRIDGE property under construction across from San Leandro BART. Marea Alta is being built using modular construction, which is anticipated to save time and costs.

Adhi Nagraj, Marea Alta's director of development, has "estimated that the modular construction process being used by contractor Cannon Constructors North has saved the project 10 to 15 percent of its $58 million construction costs." Marea Alta, once completed, is estimated to be the largest modular affordable housing project in California.
