Wegeforth Bowl is named for Dr. Harry Wegeforth, the San Diegan physician who was the visionary that led to the development of the San Diego Zoo, back in 1916. Past successful projects at the San Diego Zoo were a critical factor in Cannon being the successful Contractor to build this exciting facility improvement, and to insure it would be complete prior to the 100 Year SD Zoo Anniversary in 2016.
The project focused on renovation of the Bowl and improving the Bowl Experience for the guests. This was accomplished with the addition of a Custom Stage Canopy and a Custom Superspan Bleacher Canopy system, all supported by steel and cables.
In addition, a new 108 SF Audio/Visual screen, with upgraded Tech booth, new Lighting, Site Improvements and a 8’ x 73’ Display Wall were added.
